4chan.org is a message board and image board on the Internet where people congregate to post various kinds of pictures, flash animations, and discuss things such as anime. But its main attraction is porn.  Unlike most message boards, 4chan encourages its users to post porn and hentai pictures. If someone is looking for more porn of a certain person, they can ask the rest of the Internet if they have seen any more. 
Because of the attraction of porn, majority of the perverts on the Internet go there, so it is safe to say that 4chan is the most popular message board on the Internet.

The system that 4chan uses is Anonymous, so one can safely post one's opinion without worrying.  When one posts on 4chan, if he does not specify his name, then he will be displayed as anonymous.

how mesage boards work 101.
on a message board, usualy after an amount of time a post is replaced on the front page with newer posts.  each new post pushes the old post further back. but if someone replys to an old post then the old post is braught back to the front page.  so if someone wants people to pay atention to an old post, they will bump it back to the front page.  in order to do that they reply on the old post.  but usualy they have nothing better to say so they just post the word "bump"

This word has its origin on the 4chan imageboards, more specificially the "/b/ - Random" imageboard there. The moderators on that board sometimes install wordfilters that change certain words or phrases to other words and phrases when a post is made and much hilarity ensues. A recent example for this was when "FTW" (For The Win) was wordfiltered to "SUCKS". Similarily, at some point the word "cock" was wordfiltered to "harbl" because the moderators got tired of the meme "I'll suck your cock" which of course then always read "I'll suck your harbl". Since this was almost 2 years ago many newer users don't know the origin story (so to speak) and just use it as a random (pun intended) nonsense word. Most recently it has become integrated in the "I'm in ur ______ verb+ing my/your ______" meme.

So in short, Harbl means cock.

Hivemind is when two or more people come to the same thought at the same time because of the same circumstances but do not know each other beforehand (i.e. it cannot be an inside joke). This usually happens on internet message boards, and is especially noticeable when the thought reached is not a meme. The name is reflective of insects who act in unison with their hive (or nest) mates.

Os-tans are anime personifications of operating systems as girls. Another name for it them is OS-girls. It all started with Windows ME (Millennium Edition) which was one of Microsoft's worst products, unstable & prone to frequent crashing.
So some random guy in Japan working at futaba channel thought Windows ME was like a tempermental troublesome girl who did all kinds of stupid things that lacked common sense.  Well this dudes idea got out, it became an instant hit. People started making comics, figures, and even animations about ME-Tan.  After that, it just spread. Every new Windows version to come out got its own little OS-Tan that reflected how well the operating system worked.  Now days, every operating system has its own little character. Including MAC, and Linux.

     

To go into a little more detail, here are some of the girls personalities.  (Don't judge me. I just found this shit on google.)

ME-tan: based on Windows ME. She is the clumsy type that often freezes at inappropriate moments.

 

XP-tan: based on Windows XP. She is the big-breasted character, mostly for being so memory hungry.

 

Win2K-tan: Based on Windows 2000 (pro. edition). The intelligent and professional in the bunch. Often seen as the guardian of ME-tan due to her stability.

people can also show displeasure by telling someone to Sage the thread.  this is generally an empty threat, but it convays that persons point all the same.
